Believing We Can and NOMS Third Sector Action Plan Consultation Papers
Believing We Can
Having a faith can be a great source of support for personal change, and can also motivate people from a wide range of background to help and care for others by being part of a voluntary organisation. As most crime is local and most offenders will return to live in their home communities the role of local faith based organisations is crucial to preventing crime and supporting offenders.
This is a consultation to help us overcome the challenges of working in partnership with faith based organisations and increase their role in prevention and reducing re-offending.
Third Sector Action Plan
The Government defines the third sector as non-governmental organisations that are value driven and which principally re-invest their surpluses to further social, environmental or cultural objectives.
This plan is designed to build on the achievements of the third sector’s work across the country and to break new ground in recognition of the developments that have taken place between Government and the third sector since 2004. The consultation takes place within the wider context of the Ministry of Justice's third sector strategy, the overarching framework within which policy leads will develop more specific actions relative to their responsibilities.
These consultations are now closed.
